His professional experience covers all matters related to labor law, including legal practice before the various labor, administrative, and judicial bodies—Social Courts throughout Spain; High Courts of Justice of the different Autonomous Communities; the Supreme Court; Administrative Litigation Jurisdiction, etc.

Eduardo Ortega Prieto has served as Professor of Labor Law at the University of Barcelona and also as Professor of the same subject at the School of Legal Practice of the Barcelona Bar Association.

He is the author of numerous books and works—more than thirty—on Labor Law, covering a wide range of topics in this field: the Workers’ Statute and its subsequent amendments and revisions; wages; certain special employment relationships (senior executives, commercial agents/sales representatives); and the multiple aspects that make up the Spanish Social Security system (registration and contributions, pensions, successive system reforms, etc.); practical manuals on various subjects, etc.

His professional biography is complemented by numerous articles published in various journals—both general and specialized—as well as lectures at numerous conferences, seminars, courses, and workshops.
